Guest scott4534 Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 I have a debadged Orange San Francisco with Finnish Fillyjonk RLS5 ROM. Using Giffgaff PAYG SIM. Whenever I start using GPS, the mobile data connection drops and won't restart until a reboot. This happens with Maps, Satnav, Cardiotrainer etc. Calls and texts still work ok, but nothing that uses data works - email, internet etc. If I'm using a Wifi connection instead, I have no problem, gets location and downloads maps at the same time as it should. Example: 1. Wifi and GPS disabled. 2. Check email - ok, uses mobile data connection. 3. Enable Wifi and GPS. 4. Start maps - everything is good, can see location and maps download ok. 5. Disable Wifi. 6. In maps, get "Data connection lost". 7. Try to check email - "Unable to open connection to server". From now on, can't get mobile data connection unless I reboot. Wifi still works ok if I re-enable it. I'm pretty sure this used to work ok with RLS5. I restored a RLS3 backup and still find the problem with that, and it definitely used to be ok. Is this likely to be a hardware failure, or could there be a setting somewhere that would make this happen?

One day without touching my APNs it can be great and then the next rubbish?! I live in a good 3g area. I think o2 is pretty rubbish though by the sounds of it but I have a signal when this happens?!
