Guest Delnar_Ersike Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Oh boy, yet another "how do I overclock thread?" thread... Short version: in order to overclock, you'll need a ROM with a kernel that allows for overclocking as well as an app to apply said overclocking (the most popular one is SetCPU). AFAIK, since LCR 1.1.2 and LCR 2.0 use the default kernel (the one that comes with the stock ROM) of the .bin they are based on, overclocking is not possible with the boot.img supplied by those two ROMs (boot.img contains the kernel). Only a boot.img with a modified kernel has the overclocking frequencies enabled, since Acer doesn't want their users to overclock their devices willy-nilly. And since Acer has yet to publish the source code for their FroYo kernel, all modified FroYo kernels are community-made. To overclock LCR 2.0, you must either create and/or compile a community-made kernel yourself or try to use an existing boot.img that allows overclocking. The former requires great technical knowledge, while the latter usually produces incompatibility problems. Currently, the best choice for an existing overclocked boot.img for LCR is thepasto's, available here. Note, however, that wifi tethering does not work with it and the ROM cannot recognize headsets as of now. Also, some people report higher-than-normal battery usage, and I don't know how well it works with LCR 2.0, as it as created for 1.1.2.
