Guest insurgente Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 i got it for the hell of it.... is an anti-virus neccessary on an android? i'm not sure if it's slowing my phone down it did find my phone on gps and make it start yelling, which was good
Guest Gryphonic Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 I used it for a bit. it did what it said on the tin, and the only slowdown i notices whas when is scanned apps as you installed them... Is anti virus etc really necessary if your just using market apps?? I switched to prey instead. No anti virus, but has more features for when you loose the phone, including locking the phone, for free. And its open source ;)

Guest Rotmann Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 (edited) Also an hilarious article about Lookout on AndroidPolice. The major flaw is the non-SMS support, if the thief does not have internet enabled it's useless. Also if he factory resets or installs another ROM you are out of luck. Some alternatives are listed here. Edited January 19, 2011 by Rotmann
