Guest simonta Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 My accelerometer has stopped working. I've done a complete flash. Still no go. Can't think that it's anything except a hardware failure. Any ideas? Cheers all

Cheers all Damn thats hard luck man ;) The only thing i can think of is to flick the accelerometer lock on the top of the Vega incase its got stuck on the locked setting or something!
Guest harmohn Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 (edited) This may sound daft, but have you checked that you haven't toggled the orientation lock-switch? Edit: see newbe5 got there first ;) Edited January 18, 2011 by harmohn
Guest simonta Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 I dunno. What does it take around here for a chap to establish a reputation for the weeniest bit of tech savvy ;) Yeh, tried giving the toggle a bit of a bashing. Still sitting here stuck in landscape. Ah well, I'll make someone's day at PC World support tomorrow. I'm awfully nice to call centre folks.

I am going to try running the battery down (worked for someone in another thread) then its the call centre.

I'm working on a big development at the moment and can't afford to be without for a while. I'll get it swapped after I've got my app out. Cheers

Cheers Discharging the battery down then leaving it for an hour seems to have fixed it. My son in law says it happens with phones and the fix is to remove the battery for a while. God knows why it happens ?

Well, since the original post, I've flashed about a gazillion times so sadly, battey flattening ain't gonna help me. Nevertheless, I'll give it a go and report back. Cheers
Guest rferrett Posted February 6, 2011 Report Posted February 6, 2011 I have got the same problem (also my sound has packed in) just been waiting for them to get more stock so I can get a replacement. Most annoying, spesh at R7 has made it such a thing of loveliness!
