Guest WinterWonderland Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 Hi Guys I just plugged in my brand new blade into the charger at 6:15pm uk time and the phone turned on by itself. I switched it off again but it just powered itself back up again so I thought oh that must be how it charges i guess. Is that normal? The arrow (the 3 buttons along the bottom home menu and arrow) is red still and my battery on screen has a ? over it so I really dunno if the battery is charged or what is going on with it. Can anyone tell me how I would know? Thanks

If the phone is off and charging the far right button will go green. this may help battery recalibration Edited January 18, 2011 by deanhiggins2

Guest WinterWonderland Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 it will charge with it off and the battery will have a lightning bolt in it to show it charging if the phone is off and charging the far right button will go green ;) How do you turn the phone off though.... if i power it off it just boots itself back up again? The battery icon when the phone is powered on is grey with a ? in the middle which is s*** as I have no idea whats going on with the battery. The only indicator something is actually happening is the far right button being red. :) Not a good start with this phone!

Guest Azurren Posted January 18, 2011 Report Posted January 18, 2011 As i say it has a ? no percentages whatsoever the thing wont even stay turned off, it keeps powering itself back up Unplug it, take the battery out, put it back in. (Still should be off) Then plug in the charger (The back button should light up red, still should be off) If it turns on at any of the above steps without pressing the power button.. Think about handing it back to orange, it maybe a "minor" fault but these tend to manifest into a big problem further down the line.. Usually when the warranty runs out ;) No not a good start :)

Is the charger meant to be a mains plug with a USB female connector? Thats what ive got and im wondering if it is even the right thing. Edited January 18, 2011 by WinterWonderland

Yeah, much better imo because now you have a USB charger to charge almost anything :) Like above the light will turn green when fully charged but don't expect full battery life yet! You'll need to go through several cycles (Of using the phone as normal, running it down and re-charging) before the battery will hold it's maximum charge ;)
Guest sumdumguy Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 I always get the feeling that my battery doesn't charge to 100% properly when turned on, the first 10% drops quickly. If I turn it off and charge, it will charge for a good further half hour or more, then the first 10% lasts well. I have done the battery recalibration thing too, but made no difference it always charges for longer when powered off.
