Bricked the phone during flashing. Not charging, no response Vol.Up+Camera+Power or Vol.Down+Camera+Power. Battery, Sim and MicroSD removed and retried.

Help!

So you were flashing a Liquid Metal BIN or FroyoMetal ROM?

Liquid Metal BIN, just to try to see what's gonna happen.

Now it's not even charging, after placing connecting with the charger for an hour.

Try getting into Fastboot.

Plug in USB and hit Camera+Power

Or maybe it is

1. Remove battery and replace battery.

2. plug in PC-connected USB cable

3. Camera button + "<" then Power.

Maybe even try Liquid Metal combinations

http://www.acer-android.fr/combinaisons-touches-t1973.html

* Focus: the first notch of the Camera button. This key has two notches / features, focus and shoot (so just substitute that for Camera since we don't have a Focus button on Liquid)

Recovery (this is from the thread in our forum, last post of the Hardware Button Combo):

Press : (Vol+) + (Vol-) + Focus + Power. The phone will vibrate once, keep all button pressed. After a few seconds (screen lights up) briefly release focus and press it again (while keeping the other buttons pressed).

Bootloader (probably with USB plugged in) (based on Google Translate+my translation which is based on the above translation):

(Volume +) + Power, once the phone vibrated, release and hold Vol + Power button.

Plugged into the charger overnight, checked a few times, no sign of charging.

I begin to suspect that either the battery is dead or the USB port is toasted, any other suggestions?

Just for information, it's been translated here : Android @ MoDaCo » Device Specific » Other

[...](so just substitute that for Camera since we don't have a Focus button on Liquid)

;) I had a focus button on my A1...

So... how's the progress? It is running on Metal BIN, so your phone is a Metal now. but one thing you must realize is the hardware between Metal and Liquid/E is different.

BIN includes the drivers for hardwares the phone itself, so I don't think the keys, charging, etc works

Unit returned to Fido to be forwarded to Acer for service.

did you try reset button at the back of the device? next to micro sd slot

don't even know there's such button, but would that help if there's absolutely no response (meaning no fastboot, bootloader, not even charging etc.)?

Reset button would not have helped here. It can restore the phone to factory by erasing apps and datas but if the system files are corrupted it won't do anything.

Yup, drivers and hardwares are mismatched at the BIOS level, so you can't do anything

Thanks to all who contributed.

The phone is repaired under warranty, details revealed that mainboard and assembly related to battery connector is replaced. Makes me wonder...
