USB Power from Zte Blade

Hi , i was wondering if anyone knew if you can use or access power from the micro usb socket on the Zte Blade.

I looking a creating something controlled by Android and would like to use the microusb cable to control my project.

If anyone knows or could point me in the right direction please let me know.
