Guest zenchan Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 My girlfriend has a desire through O2, which was upgraded to the official 2.2 and the only thing that has been done to it "homebrew" wise was rooting it via Unrevoked3. It is now being returned to O2 due to a physical hardware fault, should it be unrooted for safety's sake? And if so, is it simply a case of acquiring a "time machine" equivalent (I'm hopping over from the Pulse forums ;) ) and downgrading to the official 2.1 then back up to what would then be an unrooted 2.2?
Guest volatile_ink Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 (edited) Don't sweat it, just send it back. If they do get it working and find out it's rooted, doubt if they'll do anything about it. I bricked an N95 (pre-Android days) and claimed on my Orange Care Insurance... though it did get 'water damaged' before I sent it back, just in case.... ;) Edited January 19, 2011 by volatile_ink
Guest EddyOS Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 You can download the o2 2.2 RUU and reflash that so it's back to stock - probably the best solution
