Guest Len Ash Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Dear Mates, I dropped my Orange sanfrancisco and the screen got cracked...please please help me Penataya Wrong sub-forum...... No spares available yet. Try again in 3 months.
Guest oh!dougal Posted January 19, 2011 Report Posted January 19, 2011 Frankly, if the phone is still working, though damaged, it would possibly be useful as a 'mule' for a developer's experiments. It would make a nice donation. In the UK, the only source for new spares would be Orange. Try them, but don't expect anything. The phone is sufficiently cheap that they would likely regard it as being disposable - and they could probably sell you a complete phone for significantly less than the cost of a screen plus fitting. Or else try and buy a phone with a b*ggered computer, power switch or whatever, but with a decent screen - and combine the two. Unless you are used to dismantling phones or at least laptops... don't.

Examples: Cracked screen, non working digitizer, broken microphone/speaker, won't recognize a SIM-card, no network signal etc... I could really use a "dev-phone" so that I don't have to flash (and risk) my main phone as often as I do.
Guest reluctant_traveller Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 It's not usually in my nature to be sarcastic, but this post, heh.. Have you tried one of those DIY kits for repairing car windscreens? I mean, how bad a crack do you mean? Failing that, install a wallpaper that looks like a cracked screen and you are golden.

Guest Ron=) Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) If you do get hold of a broken OSF w/ a working screen or somehow a screen this video will probably prove to be useful when it comes to disasembly. Edited January 27, 2011 by Ron=)
