Does Hi-Q MP3 Recorder work under Froyo ROMs?

I'm keen to use Hi-Q MP3 Recorder from the market to record interviews but the lite (test) version is telling me that the phone's CPU is not fast enough to run the app. Anyone using this sucessfully under a 2.2 ROM?

It was JJ Release 7, but just flashed 8. It may have been OC'd to 710MHz when I was using it - I can't remember :S
