Guest surbiton_flyer Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 Apologies if this has already been covered. Bought a San Francisco last week. Unlocked and installed one of the Froyo ROMs - from the main page - I think Pauls r6 2.2 for TFT. The screen on the phone becomes unresponsive sometimes. The only way I can activate the screen to my touch again is to remove the battery. I'm trying to establish if this is a hardware fault and I should return the phone or if it is possible related to software. Once again, apologies if this has been covered.
Guest wakaru Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 The same has happened to my GF's TFT SanFran once a couple of days ago. No idea what it's caused it, but since removing the battery fixes it, I imagine it will be a software issue. She's on Sebastian's Android 2.2 I'm on Sebastian's 2.2 as well but mine is an OLED one, and I can say that has not happened to me (yet). Both have had the phone for just over a month now, and they have been on 2.2 for the last week only.

I figure I may as well take it back while its still new and get another. if it then happens after I have installed 2.2 on the new one I know its probably software not hardware related
Guest lljkpugna Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 Discussion on the screen freezing issue seems to have dried up, is it because it's happening less often or because people have just got used to it? My girlfriend's is still doing it at least daily.
Guest Lifeforms Posted January 20, 2011 Report Posted January 20, 2011 I've had it on one rom. It was usually I locked it, if I got a call in, i couldn't do anything to unlock the screen, and had to remove battery. Not had it on the first rom, did have it on the second, and not yet noticed it on the 3rd rom i'm on atm. I can't for the life of me remember which rom it was though.
