camera app force closes - can I just reinstall an .apk or update.zip?

I'm running the latest japanese jellyfish, on a tft orange san fransisco. it *was* working, but I've been installing/uninstalling a load of free apps and games recently, and something's bollocksed it up. Youtube's got problems, too...
