Guest crockwit Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 I have been trying to update the ebook reader app Aldiko since yesterday. It downloads but will not install. I have just reflashed and reinstalled the R6 performance pack in case my system had become corrupted but the app still fails to to install. Anyone else having this problem ?
Guest Prosody Posted January 21, 2011 Report Posted January 21, 2011 I had a problem on my phone with the latest update. I had to unmount my SD card To install it. Give that a go.

I wish I hadn't bought Repligo reader now, no need considering how well Aldiko handles pdfs.

The problem did exist with some other apps as well as Aldiko. Unmounting the SD card is a workaround. After googling "Android Error 18" it seems this is some sort of bug in Android, not anything specific to the Vega. Edit I think I have found solution to this problem. Mount the SD card on a PC, open the android_secure folder, delete the file "smdl2tmp1.asec". It should be now possible to update/install apps with the SD card mounted. You need to mount the SD card on a PC to remove the file because android will not let you remove files from the android_secure folder. Edited January 22, 2011 by crockwit
