Screen off stops push everything

Hi all

Got a strange problem, phone has latest jelly rom but also tried others and still the same.

When wifi is on, when phone screen turns off auto or manually no more push emails or whatsapp messages come through until you 'wake' the phone.

I've tried different wifi keep alive settings but no joy. If I disable wifi completely it works perfectly using just mobile network.... I was hoping setting wifi to disconnect when phone sleeps would fix it but nothing. It's almost like wifi sleeps / turns off but phone and apps don't 'know it' and won't revert to the mobile network

Other people must be having this same problem....

Any ideas ?, maybe I need a updated radio img ? (using stock one)

I also have a Desire HD and this phone works perfect with wifi enables all the time.
