Guest ThatGuyJim Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 The cheapest UK Pay-As-You-Go deal around? Yesterday, I was talking with the ASDA Mobile help desk. I've been using their PAYG tariff for the last couple of years. The helper said: "We're the cheapest PAYG tariff around." You may not have heard of it, as ASDA Mobile piggybacks onto the Vodafone network, and there must be some deal whereby ASDA cannot advertise because of this. But you can pick up a SIM at the supermarket checkout or in the electrical section. It's 8p / min for calls, 4p for texts. Is there a cheaper PAYG deal?
Guest Marvintheparanoidandroid Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 This does sound good. Do they have data services as well? How many MB per month over 3G?
Guest ThatGuyJim Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Marvin, It says 20p/MB on their website: http://www.asdamobile.com/compare_tariffs.html

Their offers: Calls and Texts to other GiffGaff users are free (as long as you top up every 3 months). Texts to other networks are 4p per SMS. Calls to other networks are 8p per minute. Video calls 50p per minute Calls to Freephone numbers are FREE. Various 'Goody Bags' (Bundles) available too (currently half-price) which are: £5 goodybag - unlimited texts for a month * Ultd texts £10 goodybag - 150 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited mobile Internet for a month * 150 mins * Ultd web * Ultd texts £15 goodybag - 300 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited mobile Internet for a month * 300 mins * Ultd web * Ultd texts £20 goodybag - 600 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited mobile Internet for a month * 600 mins * Ultd web * Ultd texts Or Option of - * 2p calls * 1p texts * to both UK mobiles and landlines * for £5 So its very good for andriod phones.
