A Few Questions About the ZTE Blade

I am considering buying the ZTE Blade. I have read around and it looks like a good phone, but i have a few questions i would like answers to before i buy. These are mainly about the screen btw...

1. Is there a noticeable differenced between the OLED screen and TFT screen? If so which is better?

2. How much does it cost to get the screen replaced? TFT and OLED?

3. How difficult is it to break a screen?

On a side note, i have a Nokia 5800 atm... It's s***. Really is. I have had to fix the LCD screen twice and the touch screen once. That's why i ask about the screen.

Oh and if this is in the wrong place, sorry. And you have loads of useful information on here.

there are cons and pros for each type of screen:

Oled: blacker blacks, less power consumption

cons: you could get a dead pixel (but goto orange and they'll replace it.) not that sharp text

LCD: sharper images/text, no dead pixels

cons: more power consumption and not that bright colours

anyway, if you have never seen an oled screen, you wont notice the difference.

also, now, most of the SF's are tft LCD so its rare you'll get and oled

TFT's can have dead pixels? They're fairly famous for it. Not this screen in particular - but in general I mean.

As for screen replacement, I don't believe there are spare parts for them yet unless you pick up someone else broken phone and I think the general consensus is that with the phone being so cheap it's basically a write off if the screen is knackered.

1. the difference isnt great but OLED is better. this doesnt really matter since you wont get an OLED screen.

2. there are no spares around, so its however much you can get a spare phone for.

3. it doesnt seem particularly flimsy. I've dropped mine loads and battered it a bit when pissed and its a-ok still. I dont think you need to worry too much about busting it unless you are particularly cack-handed!!

I have the option to get a second hand OLED phone, I know for TV's they are awesome, but I wasn't sure what the difference would be on a screen of this size. I am one of these people who will fix something if i can. I got my 40GB ps3 for £100 because I replace the laser.

Thanks to all for the input. I might as well get a brand new phone then, I should get the added bonus of knowing I have some form of warranty on it.
