Guest WinterWonderland Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Has anyone came across cloths or solutions to clean the screen? I heard baby oil and water?
Guest phlum Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Depends what you're trying to clean off it. For general fingerprints and what-have-you, my jumper sleeve usually does the trick.

Guest Len Ash Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 I use the cloth that came with my sunglasses, it works great, it leaves the screen has new  Get a proper specs cloth - they work a treat....and are simple and cheap.
Guest FrankieADZ Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 using a cloth that comes with a pair of glasses has been the best I've found.
Guest WinterWonderland Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Thanks Guys Looks like ill be getting that cloth then
Guest Stevvie Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 Lens cloth for glasses or a micro fiber cloth, that's all I've ever needed to use.
Guest fLaMePr0oF Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Has anyone came across cloths or solutions to clean the screen? I heard baby oil and water? Baby oil would be a MASSIVE NO!!! OK, I'm admitedly a bit anal about cleaning my electronic devices, but this is because I'm cursed with particularly high PH finger prints which means that if I don't clean anything I touch regularly it wears quickly; letters wear off keyboards / keypads, coatings wear off lenses etc... I've found the best solution for all screens are the LCD Cleaning kits that can be found in stores like Comet / Robert Dyer etc. (Very cheap versions can be found in £1 stores but the cleaning solutions in these are rubbish.) The most important part of the kit is a decent microfiber cloth, this will remove grease etc. much more efficiently than a normal cleaning cloth, a decent lense cloth will do the same job (not the free ones you get from optitians, you have to shell out a few quid for a decent microfiber one) just remember to wash the cloth occasionally as it will become less effective the more it is used. Also, of course as has already been said; apply a screen protector, I bought these on eBay and can't fault them, you get 6 for £2.95 including postage and a very small microfiber cleaning cloth:- http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Guest t0mm13b Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) Pop into Specsavers and try haggle or even bribe the salesperson to hand over a spectacle lens cleaning cloth.... There - that's the challenge.... bribe 'em for what 1quid for it, he/she will think you're desperate and may give you one for nothing  The lens cloth actually cleans it nicely... well am four-eyed myself so that's sorted... :) Edited January 23, 2011 by t0mm13b
Guest madnav Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) I put 3-4drops of water on screen, spread it over to dissolve any dust/dirt. Gently scrub with ear buds if the dirt is oily. (Some people have oily hands) Then i put a piece of news paper on it which absorbs almost of the water and dirt. Then i use another piece of news paper to wipe out the remainder of the liquid. And after that i wipe one with microfiber cloth. I use water + newspaper 1st so that any solid particle on the screen would not leave hairline scratches while wiping with microfiber cloth directly. The original screen without any scratch guard is much more scratch resistant than general scratch guards that we get, but now i am using a scratch guard over the screen just to ensure long life of the screen. Scratch guard needs to be cleaned more precaution now  PS: I would request people to not use any cleaning solutions, soaps, detergents, shampoos etc.. It may screw the protective coating on the glass thereby compromising the visibility under sunlight. And water works just fine!! Edited January 23, 2011 by madnav

Guest Ralph Martin Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Go to an opticians and get a Microfibre cloth. These specially meant to absorb oil, grease, etc.
Guest eFfeM Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Alcohol (sparsely!) and kleenex (or soft toilet paper), then remove any alcohol residue if any with a dry kleenex.
Guest RottenFoxBreath Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Camera cloth/spec cloth/microfibre cloth, and the spray I pinched from my dad, which he got with his Oakley sunglasses(spray it on the screen, then wipe with the cloth.)
