Guest casper508 Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Something like this wud be handy. Just about 10cm of extension cable so I cud stick the cam at the back, somewhere over the MS logo. Wud be much easier to take a pic from there. http://www4.carphonewarehouse.com/commerce...true&prodcatid= Cas

Cas Try turning your phone upside down with the camera plugged in. Much easier to use, no fingers in the way of the lens, no extra cable to carry around and FOC :!: With the Picture Manager app, you can then just rotate your picture. The only advantage to the cable idea is that you can take pictures through 360 degrees.

And secondly it feels a bit funny to hold the phone upside down specially when you get a call in the middle and end up pressing the wrong key! :)
Guest lutzh Posted February 14, 2003 Report Posted February 14, 2003 just great - need that cable: ever tried to make a picture of you & a friend? little bit tricky if you don't see the screen. the cable would fix that... cheers, lutz

I always end up cutting myself in half. Another work around could be a rotateable camera but still its awkward down there me thinks. Cas
Guest lutzh Posted February 15, 2003 Report Posted February 15, 2003 well, they said its a smart phone, casper, tehy didn't say its a smart camera :-). but seriously - if it would be rotateable AND have a flash it would be a smart camera too... cherio, lutz

Guest ukdownhill Posted February 15, 2003 Report Posted February 15, 2003 Instead of a flash (Which would as already mentioned probably drain battery) How about some kind of contrast change so you can take pictures in darker areas. I'm guessing you wouldnt need new hardware but just sum clever software. Saw something similar on a N7650 but dont know if its any good. Might be worth looking into. Sadly i suck at programming so it might be a good challenge for somebody else!!
Guest HelloDave Posted February 15, 2003 Report Posted February 15, 2003 You can change the camera brightness in IA Album but it can't compensate for the physical lack of light, so you end up with washed out pictures. Contrast enhancement can help a certain amount, but you can't bring out details in the picture that aren't there; the lens on the SPV cam (and all phone cams) is too small to be much use in anything but strong to fair light.
Guest Bro Posted April 4, 2003 Report Posted April 4, 2003 The camera extension could open up Video Conferencing possibilities, Programs such as Microsoft Portrait (which is supposed to be developing a Smartphone version), will then show the smartphone users face, instead of er.... the floor! :? http://research.microsoft.com/~jiangli/portrait/ ^Pester them to release the smartphone version asap.!.
