Guest Adam1511 Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 (edited) Arghh.... Just gone to update to CM6 after getting my phone back from repair. Downloaded the T-Mobile UK 2.1 update, and CM6 onto the SD card. Put it into bootloader and installed clockwork. Then (stupidly) installed the CM6 zip before the 2.1 official one. I realised my mistake once it had installed and was removing files so I pulled the battery. It wouldn't boot as you would expect so I just reopened clockwork, wiped everything (boot, system, data). Pulled the battery out and reinstalled clockwork. I've then gone to install the 2.1 update and it wouldn't. I figured I'd better install the 1.5 update instead so attempted that but that failed too. But now when I turn the phone on it gets stuck on the ANDROID loading screen and won't progress, and clockwork won't load and nor will bootloader. I'm really stuck as to what to do... Any help, please? Thanks. Edit: After letting it charge for a while it now let me reinstall clockwork from the bootloader. But I'm still stuck as to how to install a ROM now.. Guest Adam1511 Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I've tried to put the 1.5 on, but when I press Vol Up + Red + Power the update fails before it even gives me the option to install it.
Guest jeddy1 Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I've tried to put the 1.5 on, but when I press Vol Up + Red + Power the update fails before it even gives me the option to install it. Well there is a file named dload also which is 146kb I think and I think is called time machine all this. Find it, download it, uzip it, put it to root of ur sd card,Vol up+Red+power so you flash then get the dload file of the 1.5 and put it to root of sdcard. Remember to delete the other dload (146kb).again the update procces and you'll have 1.5.then do what you want:).I hope you get it;-)

You aren't giving us enough information to know what you really did or didn't do. As jeddy1 said, you need to try to revert to an older rom by using Huawei's "downgrade" rom (aka "time machine). You need to precisely follow the steps in this post in The Ultimate Pulse Owners Guide: http://android.modaco.com/content/t-mobile...e/#entry1318838 If you have precisely followed all the steps in that guide, and then it still is stuck, come back and tell us in as much detail as possible what you have done and what is still not working. Otherwise, it's really hard to know how to help you.

Guest Adam1511 Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Yes sorry guys. I tried using Timemachine and followed the instructions exactly but it just failed. But after trying the T-Mo 2.1 ROM several times eventually that worked and it's let me put CM6 on. But it still randomly reboots so back to the repair centre it goes.
Guest Adam1511 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 I'm going to take it back into T-Mobile repair to get them to sort out the random reboots again but I want to get it back to 1.5. I've followed the Pulse Guide to download the 1.5 (timemachine). I've extracted it and put it on the root of the SD, but when I try to update it it quickly pops up with Unpacking this may take a few minutes but then instantly fails with "Update failed" and the LEDs then blink. Is it possible to flash it using a zip in recovery?

Is it possible to flash it using a zip in recovery? What "takes a few minutes" and what "instantly fails"? Sorry, but I can't make sense of those two phrases together in that sentence. This may not help, but I'll try to explain. The "time machine" is not actually a complete ROM. It does not replace the bad rom you have already. It does not really "fix" anything. Everything that was wrong before you install it is still wrong after you install it. You have the same exact mess, but with one really tiny but very important difference: you phone now has been "set" to allow you to install any of the old official roms, including 1.5 or 2.1 roms. So here is my suggestion for my "easy" way to do it. You need to delete any /dload folder on your SD card and copy the /dload for the time machine onto your SD card and "install" it by booting while holding down the up_volume and end_call keys (which should happen very quickly because it doesn't really install anything). Then pull out the battery, pull out the SD card, use a card reader in your computer to delete the /dload folder, copy the new /dload folder on to your SD card with whichever official 1.5 rom you want to install in it, then put the card and battery back in your phone, and reboot while holding in the up_volume and end_call keys to install your new rom (which should take a few minutes because it really is installing a full rom). Your previous post said it "let you put CM6 on it". If that is so, then I doubt you are at the point that you need to send it in for repair. And, depending where you are, they might not repair it under warranty unless you get an official rom back on it. So I can only suggest you keep trying the above. Good luck, and keep looking The Ultimate Pulse Owners Guide. Edited January 30, 2011 by twrock
Guest Adam1511 Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Thanks twrock, when I said this may take a few minutes I meant that when I had the time machine in the /dload folder and tried to install it with Vol Up + End + Power it would go to the screen in the usual manner where it says "Unpacking. This may take a few minutes", but by the time I had barely read that it changed to the yellow exclamation mark with "Update failed" below it. I didn't know the time machine wasn't a full ROM and so had kept trying that, however, last night in frustration I put the Dec update in /dload and tried to flash that and it worked. It booted into 1.5 but still had the rebooting problem so I've taken it into T-Mobile repair in the hope they'll swap the circuit board instead of just the battery this time. Thanks for your help (even if I was being nooby). ;)

And, even the "old dogs" make silly mistakes (like typing "down_volume" instead of "up_volume"). At least you were able to get the December update onto it, so they should fix it for you.
Guest Deutscherwolf Posted May 2, 2011 Report Posted May 2, 2011 (edited) I'm having a similar problem. to start with this is what i did: wanted to root used superpulse before i realized that you cannot use it on a 2.1 (i already had official 2.1 upgrade) tried to redo the steps to reload official 2.1 and it goes through the motions (firmware upgrade - rom install) will not reboot - take battery out - starts up (t-mo screen / android screen) STUCK-will not go farther! this sounds almost the same as this thread but when i go to the ultimate guide etc- for time machine thing - the link is dead I'm slightly stuck now with a phone that does not work - i am hoping it's not bricked and that someone can assist me with getting it back to normal Thanks Nevermind... Downloaded the 1.6/1.5 version from t-mobile and it fixed it... http://www.t-mobile.de/fremdcontent/1,2790,137859,00.html Edited May 2, 2011 by Deutscherwolf
Guest ganker Posted May 3, 2011 Report Posted May 3, 2011 check this post: http://android.modaco.com/content-page/312...-u8230/page/20/ download the 2 two attached files, both are time machines to downgrade your rom, try them both. Then find an offical rom for your phone, and flash that, which should fix things. please note the roms i link to (on the wiki) are for a pulse u8230.
