Guest t0mm13b Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 I was looking at this and came across it by accident. Thing is there's a remarkably similar program found here So which is the real thing???? The snapshots of the screens on widgetsoid are "similar"..... just saying....
Guest targetbsp Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 (edited) What do you mean which one is real? If it helps, neither of them are a figment of your imagination. There are several similar programs. Power Widget, Power Control Plus and Switch Pro are the same too. I've tried them all. Oddly, Widgetsoid, despite being the only free one, is actually the best one (in that it has the biggest selection of toggles) Edited January 22, 2011 by targetbsp
Guest Pully Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 +1 for Widgetsoid Loads of switches & indicators to choose from
Guest t0mm13b Posted January 22, 2011 Report Posted January 22, 2011 +1 for Widgetsoid Loads of switches & indicators to choose from Cool! will try that - as extended power controls crash on me.... Cheers +1 for widgetsoid :)
Guest vareBlade Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Does anyone else experience lag on Launcher pro since he added widgetsoid?
Guest targetbsp Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Nope, I use it fine with LauncherPro.
Guest Rotmann Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 +1 for Widgetsoid, great complex free app. No lag with LauncherPro plus.
Guest Magnets Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Widgetsoid has been great for me, no problems and is free, gets better every update.
Guest ezablade Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 Nope, I use it fine with LauncherPro. Same here, had Widgetsoid and LauncherPro for a while and never had a problem.
Guest SqueakyG Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I'm using Widgetsoid. It's very very useful! I wish it had a way of switching 3G properly. Apparently apps aren't allowed access to switch the Data Connection on/off, so 3G toggling apps cheat by scrambling APN settings when you choose "off". This works... but the phone always starts up with 3G activated again. I though I noticed LauncherPro slow down a little when I had a few Widgetsoid widgets going, but it could be my imagination. Is it a drain on resources/battery to use these widgets?
Guest targetbsp Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 (edited) It toggles data. Not 3g. While you can bodge the data on and off as you say - you can't toggle 3g full stop. I find the best thing is to have the button that opens the data/3g settings screen on my toggle buttons and change them myself. Edited January 23, 2011 by targetbsp

This is more a hardware sanfran issue/limitation if you put too many pages/widgets on the screen.
Guest Manbag Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Widgetsoid has been great for me, no problems and is free, gets better every update. Agreed. It's really good. Particularly useful is the abaility to one click on/off screen rotation. Good if you've got the phone docked in your car. You can also set-up a widget to include only apps. I've played about with this and you can up to 7/8 apps in one 4x1 homescreen space. Plus I like that you set the background to transparent

Guest Rotmann Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 I think you are confusing things. 3G is not the same as data connection. I meant switch from 2G (GPRS or EDGE) to 3G (or HSDPA) and vice-versa.
Guest T3KO Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Hmm why isnt Dataconnection working like it should? (always opens the menu) For example with the standard switches (JJ8) it works perfect.
