Guest jonnybruce Posted January 23, 2011 Report Posted January 23, 2011 I have just noticed that my LED flash wont turn on in my camera (either stock, vignette or camera360) Streak Light app wont turn it on either. Has anybody else had this please? Have tried clearing data on camera app but still no light. Am on steves 1.6.1 baseband 31800-EU, but it was like this on my previous 1.5.3. May have started when I flashed new baseband. Or is it a hardware fault??
Guest jonnybruce Posted February 24, 2011 Report Posted February 24, 2011 UPDATE: ruled out any driver or software issues by installing every rom I could find - that's practically all of them! I think it is a hardware fault caused by a knock or something, am sending it back for repair. Incidentally - was very interesting going back through all the previous roms and trying them out. I had actually forgotten how good the original Dell 1.6 was, it had really nice and very useful notification bar and a great keyboard. For some reason, it was all taken away in 2.1, shame. Also, I am now running the 319 O2 release on my streak and its pretty good and swift, will leave that on it now for the repair chappies. But my fav ever rom and most stable is Steve's 1.6.1, for some reason 1.7 was causing me a lot of grief so I will stick to that when I get my new streak back. Am waiting for feedback now on 1.8 before I even try it. Will also be interesting to see what rom the new streak comes back with!
Guest jonnybruce Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 OK - update... Sent the phone to Phil at DellStreakRepairs and he spent over 2 WEEKS trying to fix my camera flash. Apparantly it is NOT a hardware fault as my camera unit works fine when he removed it and tried it in another machine. It has completely stumped him (and me). He was actually really embarassed that he couldn't fix it and he is sending it back to me unchanged. Anyway myself and Phil have tried flashing every single rom that is knocking around out there for the streak and they all failed to make the flash fire up. I appeal to anyone out there who might have any knowledge of a system file or such like that might be prohibiting the flash feature. Can anybody help at all?? Please :D
Guest shi3ld Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Im sure you have , however, have you tried a flash light app?
Guest jonnybruce Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Im sure you have , however, have you tried a flash light app? Yep, I used to love the streak light app back in the day when it worked!
Guest seyan416 Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 solution? my camera flash not working  Thanks
Guest jonnybruce Posted May 10, 2011 Report Posted May 10, 2011 solution? my camera flash not working  Thanks There is no solution AFAIK Mine still very much broken! Unless Steve or Fards can shed some light on this, we have streaks with no flash forever. Personally I will wait for Opus One.
Guest Alperin.1 Posted May 11, 2011 Report Posted May 11, 2011 Have any of you had to do any work in the internals of your devices? If so, it is possible that a ribbon cable or other connection has become loose. I know I had my camera stop working, ended up the camera was not connected to the motherboard, flash did not work either. I connected it back up and POW all is good now. I did replace my LCD and hence i create the issue in the first place.
