Back Button Flashing even when not charging

I've been able to get out of standby before but that didn't seem to drain the battery, but now the back button flashes all the time and the battery life seems much worse. How do I fix this?

if it flashes, then its likely due to a notification e.g. missed call, new text message, new email etc

You're right, it's stopped flashing now, ha. Damn it's all that spam coming into my googlemail accounts.

So I updated all apps, after which the back button no longer took the phone out of standby... low-use battery life doubled from one day to two! But now the menu bar is once again taking the phone out of standby (fantastic feature but terrible for the battery)... why does this keep happening?

Something (App) is preventing the phone from sleeping

Anything running / updating in the background could be the cause (Weather, Facebook, twitter, Music, data watchers, but not google apps )

Running Services:

DunService - no idea what that is!

GTalkService - a google something or other that seems to run all the time which I would like to stop

OmaDrmService - not a clue

Android keyboard

MailService

Dropbox

FancyRefreshService

HmCoreService - I don't know what it is but it makes itself sound important and could well be

So that's what's running but I don't know whodunnit.

FancyRefreshService (Check the refresh settings of "Fancy widget?")

Don't know about the others though

I've noticed the notification LED flashes when you lose signal too.
