It's been suggested that using a Class 6 card could prevent corruption but I'd love to hear some opinions on this. Anybody?
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 using ext2 in a sd card is not a good idea you should use ext3 part because ext3 has journaling to prevents file-system corruption
Guest Rotmann Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Or use the move2sd enabler and leave the whole sd card as fat32. I gave up ext2 since 2.1 because it was very unreliable, once 1-2 weeks all apps were gone.

I'm sticking with FAT32.
Guest Giuliano69 Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Yeah, I agree. Further to my post above I have suffered corruption with ext2 and ext3 partitions. I'm sticking with FAT32. Incredible..... considering that fat32 DOESN'T have log journal, and instead ext3 DOES have it. Do someone know where the problem comes from ?
Guest Rotmann Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Well this whole apps2ext is a hack to trick the phone that the ext partition is the phone's internal memory. It does not have anything in common with the reliability of the ext partitions, I think the hack is unreliable and not the ext partitions.
Guest yadabwoy Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 (edited) not sure whats causing this and if ext2 is the problem but my ext2 isnt empty even the market app has stopped working ?? never had this issue with my htc hero or desire oh well everythings cheap for a reason .. That's not because the phone is cheap but because you are using an unreliable hack. Use a good 2.2 ROM with the move2sd enabler from the market and the whole SD as FAT32 and you will not have any problems.
