[request] wifi proxy settings

Is there any chance of having "Proxy Settings" built into the ROMs?

A chap called pulser added it into the Villain ROM for the HTC Hero and it appears to work OK...no support for authentication yet but that's no real problem.

Unless there's something on a back burner to add this feature another way?

yes you are true

you can set gateway and dns but not proxy

Try TransProxy (google the expression "http(s) proxy android htc desire", it should give the topic at XDA). Use 3.08, with root and 2.2 it works perfectly. Redirects browsers and most google apps.

thanks for the quick reply. I've installed 3.06b and it appears to run etc so I'll test it tomorrow at work :lol:)
