Sweet - looks encouraging. Hopeing they'll post an actual change-log somewhere. Several people have asked for them via twitter....

I'll post a bit more analysis when i've had a change to have a look at it!

For info, green = changed, blue = new, yellow = removed, white = unchanged, 1.06 on the left, 1.08 on the right.

P

Ehr, why does it say:

First /users/Paul/ROMraid/vega/updates/softwareImage_v1.06_05_Vega_Final

Second /users/Paul/ROMraid/vega/updates/P10_image_20110117_v1.07.5_Webmachine

Is this perhaps the comparison between Advents 1.06.5 and Webmachines 1.07.5 (instead of Advents 1.08)?

EDIT: Shure looks like you made a little mistake on the comparison...

The ROM on the right has several P10 files, so for sure is the UX100 ROM...

EDIT2: All is OK now...

Thanks for correcting the link!

Lots of stuff in there for 3G. I'd love to be able to browse those images.

Is there any way to extract them from the img ?

My screen responsiveness has dropped dramtacially post-1.08 update. Absolutely gutted as when I last did multi-touch visualiser (1.06) it was near perfect now after installing 1.08 it is rubbish again with loads of dead-spots

Does it give you GPS options in location / wireless settings? ie, can you run google navigation tethered to a bluetooth gps device? (Just confirmation on the options is fine if you don't have one).

Thanks

Did you try recalibrating using that tool posted here:

http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...-works-on-vega/

Yep and it had no effect unfortunately (It did before on 1.06 it worked a treat)

With 1.06+R6pp I had 99% working screen, now with 1.08+r6pp I have about 60% working screen

I'm going to give Big Ideas rom a go as it has NTFS and CIFS and i lost all my settings/apps with the base update anyway

I think I'll hold off on 1.08 for now if that's the case.

Big Ideas ROM has NTFS and CIFS?? Oh my! Might have to give that one a go too. Is it one of the ROMs stuck on USB Host though, and will Paul's USB Host/Slave switcher work on it?

Tried the V1.8 with the PP for 1.6 (aren't we impatient  )

To be honest was not expecting it to work, but hey-ho - got some messages at the end about busybox 'out of memory' or 'unable to allocate memory' after the 'chmod' command lines but it still booted up. What I wasn't expecting was that the response time would change, but the screen is sluggish, not only that but I get white flashing lines with some key presses that I never had under the 1.6 release with PP etc. Also scrolling was jerky (Pulse in particular was awful)

Reverted - with one gotcha (for me) the restore I took prior to upgrade would not work. Had to go to an earlier version that did and now playing catch-up...DOH!

Anyway the above might act as a guide if anyone else is thinking of doing this - my advice would be await Paul & Modaco's magic!

Did you try it without the pp? I mean, I read elsewhere that Tegra drivers seem to be updated so it might actually just work smooth already and maybe the pp even messes things up?

Gonna try it later tonight I think, with the addon (since that only adds/replaces apps mostly right apart from the taskbar mod... Otherwise I'll mod it that way).

Incidentally, I just posted a new clockworkmod for backup / restore!

Hmm Big Ideas ROM didnt work for me, although not sure if i flashed it correctly, i put it into NVflash recovery and ran download.bat which seemed to be installing the files in the ROM but then when it booted it had no backlight whatsoever I could feintly see the tegra 2 logo in the middle which is the Big Ideas boot screen but it just hanged in that for ages
