After having many problems with the p10AN01 and dock I got from ebay i took the plunge.

flashed advents 1.08 then Paul's R6 + PP

Most definately works faster and better than before. Was a bit worried about using 1.08 but took the chance.

has anyone here purchased a dock yet??? Well some good news. If i USB plug the pad directly into my laptop its in slave mode and I can now copy my music direct to the sdcard, but hey, if I put the pad onto the dock its auto goes into host mode and i can use my mouse, keyboard, usb stick. Still to try my external hard drive but as its fat32 i think it will work. If i then remove the pad from the dock and plug it directly into the laptop slave mode is back.

What i have noticed since the upgrade is that a little blue light appears on the bottom of the pad just as i put it on the dock, this didnt happen before.

Good news for those thinking of getting the dock, and of course thanks to Paul for his work.

If anyone needs info on dock or wants something tried let me know.

Thanks for the info!

I believe the Dock has 3 usb ports: 1 usb slave and 2 usb host ports...

Is that correct?

And did you say the usb mode for the usb port on the device itself actually switches from slave to host and back will placing it on and taking it from the dock?

Doesn't sound very likely, but implies something great!

About the 'guiding light' at the bottom of the device:

I noticed this morning it is mentioned in the PoV User Manual

(Shows some nice screen shots of the 3D launcher and audio and video apps too!)

Yes it has 3 usb, a hdmi, power and headphone and as unlikely as i may seem i can use host when its on the dock and slave when its not without using the usb switcher. How it does this i dont know but its great and exactly what i would expect a dock to do . I got the dock thrown in as a freebie when i paid 250 on ebay so i am well chuffed..

The pad came with the 3d launcher but it was very slow.

Wow...

This implies, although the dock is a piece of hardware, there might be a simple way to switch the usb mode (between host and slave) with having to flash the boot image (thus without a reboot!)...

I'm not a dev (might as well put this in my signature) so I'm not sure of this, but to me it looks like it...

Did Paul or any of the other devs see this?

I would of thought the connector at the bottom is host from the start.

Yes, but perz750 explicitly stated the usb mode for the usb port on the Vega itself changes when plugging it into the dock...

This means the usb mode of the usb port on the Vega is able to switch between host and slave without a reboot...

(No need to flash a boot image anymore...)

If we can figure out how the usb mode is switched by the dock, maybe we can make a 'real' usb switcher that does the same without the dock...

So, fast switching without a reboot!

He didn't actually mention he is using the USB connector though right?

Is there anywhere to buy the dock at the moment without having to buy it with a tablet?

Official Vega account just announced it is inbound on DSG websites. Says to me less than a week, but i guess it could be anytime. (See the accessories thread).

Any chance of a link to the eBay item?

I've done a worldwide search for "p10AN01 dock" but no results have come up.
