Guest Giuliano69 Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 (edited) Hi. I just bought the SF; with the stock original ROM, if I go to www.youtube.com, the url changes to m.youtube.com and I CAN see the videos. IF I change the ROM to 2.2, could I still see the video on M.youtube.com, or I need a 2.1 version ? Edited January 24, 2011 by Giuliano69

I upgraded to 2.2 and I am looking to reinstall that exact same app.
Guest Giuliano69 Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Don't you have a youtube application in your app drawer? I upgraded to 2.2 and I am looking to reinstall that exact same app. As far as I have understood, Aadobe has NOT released a flash version for the ARM 600 (our CPU), so there is no way to have a flash file played on ZTE Blade with froyo 2.2 ( as it is an ARM 600) Strangely (?) I've read about a "flash lite" version that DOES play flash file, but ONLY with 2.1. (don't know why only 2.1!) My point is that I don't know if, when I'm looking with my "vanilla" SF (with stock ROM) at m.youtube.com:I'm playing an HTML5 page, that does NOT use flashI'm playing a flash file, only because I've a stock ROM, and I'll loose it if i move to 2.2 Any idea ?
Guest Rotmann Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Use the 2.2 Youtube program, it's brilliant and much better than the 2.1 version.
Guest sensory Posted January 24, 2011 Report Posted January 24, 2011 Use the 2.2 Youtube program, it's brilliant and much better than the 2.1 version. What he said. Also, when you click on a Youtube video from m.youtube.com in your browser, you'll usually be directed to the Youtube app anyway, if you even get that far in the first place. Usually what will happen is a pop-up will ask if you want to open the URL for a Youtube page in your browser or in the Youtube app.

Guest wederwoord Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Guys I've tried everything, but now its time to swallow my pride and ask for help I can't find the youtube 2.2 app in the market for some reason. (I even tried opening it via appbrain, but I still cant find it in the market) I've googled it, searched forums and downloaded several youtube.apk files but it wont install. Can someone please upload it so I can install it on my JJ release 9 rom? or tell me where to find it. Or is it impossible to watch youtube with the JJ R9 ROM?

Guest Azurren Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 very good thing i hate roms with a lot of scrap i never use just download it not so hard Imho you can't release a rom without the google packaging, especially when it's apps that almost everyone uses. It's just as easy to remove it if you don't want it
Guest wederwoord Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 very good thing i hate roms with a lot of scrap i never use just download it not so hard It is indeed not that hard to download and install an app, but for some strange reason, it just not available on the androidmarket for me to download. And If I view via m.youtube the videos don't start..

Guest Phoenix Silver Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 just tested i see it in market
Guest wederwoord Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 just tested i see it in market Tnx for your help, but I did some more investigating of my own. Apperently Google is in a lawsuit with the belgian music industry and with some belgian newspapers (about google newsfeeds). Google is not amused, therfore youtube does not exist in Belgium. There is no "youtube.be" (you can try it) There is no youtube app on the market for belgian users (for example if you buy a samsung galaxy s on the Belgian market, you won't have acces to youtube on your expensive phone) Source: http://www.sigridschrijft.be/index.php/gee...msung-galaxy-s/ To all Belgian users who need the app: http://www.freewarelovers.com/android/app/youtube
Guest Rotmann Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 This is the case for Germany too, you can't find it in the damn market. Also many music videos or videos which have in background some UMG or Sony Music Entertainment or BMG music, are restricted. Youtube isn't a pleasure anymore.
