Guest wi-fli Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Hi all, I have an Android question: can I view historical logged "events" on my Vega (specifically times of shutdowns and reboots)??? I know I can easily see this data in Windows, Unix, Linux etc. I tried using adb / logcat, but it only seemed to show me real time data (and I did read some of the documentation!) The reason is because I want to do some battery tests, where I just leave the thing running, showing some long video, but without me having to be there watching it for hours, and then afterwards when it's shut itself down with a flat battery, I could interrogate a log to see what time the Vega switched itsef off. I'm new to Android (Vega is my first device), but not new to *nix, hacking etc. Any helpful suggestions gratefully received. Thanks
Guest wi-fli Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 Since my question was either too difficult, or boring, or obscure, to get an answer, I've now answered it myself! I was able to log uptime over multiple boot sessions using the app : "Bootlog Uptime" from the Market. This helped me to run some tests on battery life without needing to sit watching the thing for hours on end. Maybe someone else one day might find it useful!
