Well,

I was installing the driver software for my phone. And windows 7 64 bit wouldn't recognise it, I was going to searched for it manually, except I have disabled it or uninstalled it or something and NOTHING happens except for charging when i plug my phone in.

ALL I want is at least Unknown device in device manager but nothing, where on earth has happened to it?

Thanks for any help.

Check to see if you have USB debugging enabled on your phone

That will make Windows see the phone when it's plugged in

it's in one of the menu's can't remember which offhand but you'll find it if you go through them

That's the funny thing before the phone wouldn't appear in device manager and was shown as unknown device, I Plugged in the phone and the usb debugging came up but went away as soon as stupid windows 7 tried to install driver software automatically.

EDIT: Yes, USB debugging is enabled and has always been.

UPDATE:

I disabled usb debugging then re-enabled, then restarted computer and then finally it shows up as unknown device.

Now the problem is to get windows to recognise it.

The driver software in the Official topic at the top of the forum installs correctly but doesn't seem to help windows recognise the device?

Any Suggestions?

Well I tried choosing the .inf files in 'let me pick from a list of device drivers'. and it installed HS Handset Mass Storage Filter, which now has an error code 10: thsi device cannot start.

I am really stuck, please any suggestions like maybe a different way to install drivers, or a more recent or different set of drivers?

The thing that has got me reallly confused, is that the new drivers here: http://www.zte.co.jp/products/handsets/han...213_195849.html work on my windows 7 32bit laptop perfectly.

But are don't seem to do anything after installing on my windows 7 64 bit desktop? Yet the website says they work with 64bit and other people have reported that they work great.

Got me stumped

Well,

I tried turning on the phone with the up button held, connected to pc and windows 7 automatically found the drivers.

So for anyone else who is having problems you can try it.
