Guest Sara101 Posted January 25, 2011 Report Posted January 25, 2011 Hi Yes another noobie  I've been keeping an eye on the forum for a couple of days and my phone turned up yesterday! I've already spent a few hours on trying to work out how to delete a email account.. even called Orange who rang me back 4 times before the could advise me! :) Though I'm with Orange I really what root the phone? and would consider myself computer literate but OMG I've read so many step by step guides and they might as well be another language. So Is there ANYONE in SUSSEX/SURREY area that can do it for me? I'm happy to pay! Please message me! Also can anyone confirm: - You can't put apps in folders like iAnything? I have found you can put folders on the homepage and put apps in and rename is the only way of grouping apps? - Is there any other way to 'wake' the phone up other then the power button? - Can you copy and paste? - Can I restrict the numer of homepages I have? currently 4 of which 2 are blank - What's the use of 2 different keyboards? 1 with 3 settings?! A massive thanks in advance! I will endeavour to learn, but I'm not sure I'm brain 'thinks' android! Sara
Guest Rotmann Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Use this for future questions. It's so easy to flash a 2.2 with the new recovery manager for the blade, it's 5 minutes work, see the video in Steven Harper's guide. 1. you can group icons in the drawer too with an alternative launcher such as ADW. Press menu in the drawer. 2. not at the moment, 0x90 is working at it 3. yes, it depends in what program. Hold finger on the screen untill you get a menu or press menu-select text 4. yes with a launcher like adw (on the home screen press menu-edit) or launcherpro or zeam or go launcher. 5. don't know what you mean.
Guest Sara101 Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Hi, sorry didn't realise the other thread until after your reply. AWD and Laucherpro don't seem to work?! But I've downloaded Zeam I've managed to unlock.. but still needing someone to help me root it! ;)

Guest Sara101 Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Take a look here http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...t-the-blade-sf/ It contains all the info you need including a link to download Androot Drivers can be found here: http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...a-win7-x86-x64/ . You must root your phone before installing a custom ROM (doesn't have to be rooted for Clockworkmod recovery), to root your phone; DONE - install "appinstaller" from the Market DONE but how do I move it? - download and move this to your phones memory: http://www.mediafire.com/?05cj584oqjh... CAN'T AS BLOCKED? - install it on your phone via appinstaller - open it and press "Root"! 2. You must remove your battery and put it back again before starting the phone with the volume up button held down. I.e. the part at 1:20. Remember to hold down the volume up button for long enough! Download links for fastboot and the image file: http://www.mediafire.com/?2iuyrreqc51... http://www.mediafire.com/?9xv4q2ayaam... I used WinZIP to unzip the fastboot file. Some ROMs will need the 2.5.0.9 version of ClockworkMod Recovery to install. Many great custom ROMs can be found @ http://android.modaco.com/category/45... I am using "Finnish Fillyjonk" by kallt_kaffe and highly recommend it.
