Guest Damian J Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 (edited) I made a video for this. The capacitive screen is giving me problems. Particularly when playing games (fps's with the 2 joysticks on either side of the screen.) Is it just mine? Moving the right affects the left( see video) way too much to even consider gaming. They also seem to "snap" to each other taking a couple cm of movement to move that point again. ALSO, some spots on the screen are more sensitive then others registering a touch half a cm above the screen while other spots need a hard press. I did calibrate using Module ap.apk. Firmware version is 1.7.0.15 and config is 1.7.0.5, if this helps.. Is there an updated firmware maybe? Anyway watch the video I'm finding this really hard to explain... Does yours do this? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=boesCfhkRbs Edited January 26, 2011 by Damian J
Guest piran Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Not sure about your problem but I certainly have a problem where it will take a single touch and interpret it as a pinch - so in Acrobat or kindle instead of turning a page it zooms as you swipe across the page (or fails to do anything and then skips a load of pages at once...) so there is certainly something dodgy with the screen - I just hope it is a software glitch.
Guest Damian J Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 I am going to contact malata about this issue. My friend speaks fluent chinese. Depending on the answer mines going back. Anyone know how to find out the touchscreen model? I will try and track down some newer firmware. I am also going to ask for the source code..

Just stuck on the lock screen not able to do anything.
Guest simon.n.jonez Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 is that the official dock your using,if so HOW?
Guest Damian J Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 is that the official dock your using,if so HOW? In my video? yes? And how what? Sorry i'm just a bit confused about this question..
Guest martinbrook Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Repeat the test without the psu plugged in. In my video? yes? And how what? Sorry i'm just a bit confused about this question..
Guest PurpleRob Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Also have you tried this screen calibration app? http://android.modaco.com/content/advent-v...-works-on-vega/ It seems to sort out most if not all problems. Hope it helps Rob
Guest Damian J Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Yes I calibrated with a clean screen and with no power plugged in. Yes I calibrated using that app. Yes I tried my test with and without power. Unfortunately I think my screen is bad. I will probably return and just buy the adam once preorder 2 is out.. It really seems to live up to the ipad which I have to admit has flawless hardware.. I am a bit sad though cos I have a 1366x768 screen, 512 ram AND a 3g module in the mail (3g Pulled from a broken pioneer computers dreambook)... But I will swap out the screen if I do end up buying an adam AND the ram and module I will probably just give away to someone here who is willing to take the risk and put them to good use... Unfortunate, because I do like this tablet, but I do have to admit its very cheaply made... Maybe someone can show me a video of their screen WORKING in a multitouch tester and make me change my mind? I can always get a replacement rather than a refund.. lol. It's just, I do a LOT of android gaming otherwise I would keep this.
Guest zakblood Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 apart from one dead pixel in the middle of the screen which is not big deal, had worse with some laptops etc, work fine for me, haven't used any calibration apps as yet either build 1.8 came pre installed, could just be an early version or faulty screen or apps etc have you tried a fresh install, recovery etc the one thats built in etc, did wonders for me when i first started messing about with it when i first had it yesterday, installed all types of junk on it just to see what they did, didn't know how to delete the files at that time so after i messed about a bit more just did a complete restore which deleted the lot for me
