Guest Darkmarster Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Well ive been using my streak for a few months now and its currently running the stock o2 stuff it came with, is it worth a change to the Rom? Ive noticed its got very slow to change from Horizontal to portrait view (some times i have to tap the top). Been very scared to to change any thing since my early mishaps with windows mobile lol Advise would be a great help Thx
Guest Edrill Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 (edited) That's a definite yes!! Steve's ROMs are way faster & better than the stock ROM any day! What version of Android are you currently on? There's posts on here about upgrading from 1.6, 2.1 or stock 2.2 to Steve's ROMs. Edited January 26, 2011 by Edrill
Guest Darkmarster Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Im currently using the o2 2.2 version I dont use the Dell as my main phone as i find battery does not last me a whole day if im using it even lightly :) so hopefully this would improve also
Guest sukh singh Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Battery life lasts me a day easily! Also it is a VERY quick..The browser is on par if not better than iOS devices. Its just amazing what it can do with Steves roms. Even the nexus s seems terrible in comparison when it comes to browsing the web

Guest Edrill Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 As has already been mentioned, with the new build the battery easily lasts an entire day! Don't worry about it. Just go ahead and take the plunge!
Guest Darkmarster Posted January 26, 2011 Report Posted January 26, 2011 Thx guys looks like ill give is shot  just need to work out what to do now :) lol
Guest SunnyThePatrol Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Im currently using the o2 2.2 version I dont use the Dell as my main phone as i find battery does not last me a whole day if im using it even lightly :) so hopefully this would improve also  How very odd! I'm on the stock Dell 2.2 with the Australian telecom Optus, and with a number of phone calls, a reasonable amount of messaging, some browsing & marketplace, and a number of ~5min games of Angry Birds, I tend to get between 36 to 48 upwards hours out of one charge. So far with lighter use than that the best I've gotten is 60 hours, so I'd say you might want to have a look at what's running and cut down some services. Kill off background data (Accounts & sync settings), stop Wifi/bluetooth when you don't need them, and look around for anything else you don't need.
Guest Darkmarster Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Yeah I guess it could be some settings too ;) I use advanced task killer to shut down programs when screen is off andbattery eta tells me im getting better times from it now, but if I move from my blackbery to dell and use it Im lucky to get a day ;) Any advice on what rom to go too and were there is a noob walk through Thx
Guest Tim6772 Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Speaking as an ex iOS user AND ex stock froyo (O2) I can and will reccommend Steve's ROMs. They are cleaner, faster and regularly updated. Well worth the upgrade.
