SMS Messaging after upgrade to 2.2 Froyo Jap Jelly

Have been trying to sort this for a couple of days but now understand what is happening.

I changed the o/s from 2.1 to 2.2 jap jellyfish and found that I could not sent sms messages.

It took me an age to find out why, then I realised that when you import numbers the phone changes the telephone number structure to 000-000-000000 rather than a usual number without dashes, this makes every number from the contacts list fail when sending an sms.

Strangely it will still dial the number for a voice conversation?

Is anyone aware of any fix for this?

I've just reverted to 2.1 and everything is ok again. What's going on?

Have you got the phone numbers stored in the SIM card or in the phone internal memory?

I installed JJ yesterday and seem to have no problems sending texts.

I am importing them from the sim card.
