Guest Dectorian Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 pc don't boot at all if blade is connected am i the only one ? just to know  Hit Del or F2 as PC boots . This should allow you change boot settings . Disable boot from usb option. Hope this helps

Guest Ron=) Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) thanks but no tried all options in bios  in the BIOS settings change the boot order such that USB is either not on the list or at the bottom. Some BIOS settings may have a separate HDD boot order where the USB HDD should similarly be removed or at the bottom of the list. Edited January 27, 2011 by Ron=)
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 usb is already at bottom  thanks for help guys but i know all options in bios i don't want to solve this prob (you can't)
Guest catb Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 From my own experience, I have a Dell server (PowerEdge 1850), which, when I plug in a specific USB hub, it hangs during boot. With other USB devices it works, but it doesn't like that one. Nothing else connected, just the hub. Once it passes the BIOS and onto OS, I can put the hub, and it works. I guess someone took shortcuts when implementing the protocol
Guest RussellS Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 (edited) pc don't boot at all if blade is connected am i the only one ? just to know  Yep, I have exactly the same issue. The funny thing is that the PC is not trying to boot from the phone because the PC boot screen freezes before it has even got to the part where it identifies disks etc. If my phone is plugged into the USB when I boot the PC, I get the initial BIOS banner at the top of the screen and then nothing else. You cannot even select the boot menu or the BIOS setup or anything. I've just got used to it now and make sure the phone is not plugged in when I boot up the PC. Edited January 27, 2011 by RussellS
Guest samjam Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 pc don't boot at all if blade is connected My HP laptop won't get past USB initialisation if my Froyo Kaiser, or blade is plugged in.
Guest wbaw Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Noticed the same issue with a couple of friend's pcs when I've turned them on to charge my phone, they just hang at the bios screen. Also if I start my blade while connected to a pc then it wont recognise the sd card.
Guest Frankish Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 My partners pc doesn't boot with an iPod or my phone connected but my own pc does with anything. It's all bios related i think.
Guest wbaw Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 My partners pc doesn't boot with an iPod or my phone connected but my own pc does with anything. It's all bios related i think. Yes it is. I had an old computer that'd refuse to start with any usb card reader plugged in, which was a pain with the internal one I bought for it, it'd work if I (dangerously) connected it after startup, or in any other pc. I don't often turn my pc off, but I've noticed the blade will prevent two of my friend's computers from starting up & they're both totally different.
Guest Phoenix Silver Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 mine is only with the blade card readers and so on boot
Guest dragon2611 Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 (edited) It's a BIOS bug, I had an Abit board a few years back that used to Hang on POST (power on self test) if my Ipaq was in it's dock when the pc was powered on. It was eventually fixed by a BIOS update. If changing the usb settings in the BIOS don't fix it then the only other thing you can do is check for a BIOS update for your motherboard, If there isn't one available you could try reporting it as an issue to either your Motherboard manufacturer (if it's a custom built machine) or the Pc Vendor (If it's a Dell/HP.etc) Edited January 28, 2011 by dragon2611
Guest fonix232 Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 I agree, check for update, if there is, just update, and try then.
