I have a background image that is 480x800 PNG and looks fabulous on the Wave S8500, I have uploaded this image to the blade, but for some obscure reason, setting it as wallpaper only shows a portion of the image, instead of the full image size despite sharing the same screen pixel size. It insists on displaying a portion and only by a defined rectangle around it to select a portion to be set. Is there a guideline for the capability to display ALL of the image instead of a portion - I believe this could be useful to those who wants to theme their handsets and falling into the trap of the background portion being displayed instead of its full glory....

Any tips/suggestions?

To make a wallpaper for android you have to use double the width of the screen, for example for ZTE Blade you need a wallpaper for 960x800.

What i think you have to do is:

open that 480x800 wallpaper in photoshop and center it. (so it will look like [x][xx][x] where x=black_background and where xx=wallpaper)

Then go to your launcher and set it to not slide the wallpaper across the screens.

I didnt try it, but it should work.

You can use app called MultiPicture Live Wallpaper from market. With this app you can also set different wallpaper for each homescreen.

In otherwords, you need to make your wallpaper twice as wide. Quickest way is by adding a black background. To do this open you image in a photoediting program, Go to canvas size and increase the width from 480 to 960, making sure the image is left in the center of the canvas. Fill in ghte new canvas space with your chosen colour and copy to phone.
