Guest BigAlbie Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 Hi all Doing something stupid cos can't get root access method to work. Have used the Fatroot and mcri.r3.img to no avail. Am using OS X 10.6.6, can open Terminal and get the 'fastboot-mac ' in but hitting return just points me back to the directory I dropped the files into. I suspect it is because I am following the command line instruction implicitly a I can't figure out how the line points the .img file into the phone's internals. I am typing the line ' fastboot-mac flash boot boot.blade.superboot.mcri.r3.img' into Terminal. Can someone please point me to the error of my ways? I am no expert with command line stuff. Thanks albie
Guest Azurren Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 If all you want is root just download the "universal androot" app If you want a custom rom read this entire guide then follow it step-by-step  http://android.modaco.com/content/zte-blad...-the-zte-blade/

Guest BigAlbie Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 Follow this guide: How to root. You can do it straight from your phone. Thanks for this guys. Sorry for the late reply, I had to fly out to Qatar on Friday so been a bit hectic. Not had chance to try the above yet as no Mac with me out here and internet access only in hotel during evenings. Am back home saturday so will give these a go then. In answer to your questions, yes, I eventually plan to load another ROM. I fancy 2.2 but may just stick with the 2.1 version. Albie
