Guest heroin11 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 I usually use a USB2 port on the back of my pc to plug in most things, but I decided to try one of my USB3 ports to see if it would make a difference in transfer speeds between the vega and my pc, but everytime I plug it in my pc instantly BSOD's and I have to unplug it. There's nothing wrong with the USB3 port though as I've tried numerous other devices in there and I always have a USB2 external hard drive plugged into one and occasionally my San Fran in the other. I've tried updating the drivers for the ports and tried them both, I've reset my vega and upgraded the firmware on it, plus installed the r6 but it still does it. I really don't know why it does it though as it's the only thing that causes my pc to do it. It doesn't even get the chance for the pc to pop up to say that there's been a new device plugged in, it really is instant with it and it works perfectly fine on the USB2 ports. Any ideas, anyone?
Guest zakblood Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 using a usb3 port with a vega wont make any difference in transfer speed as the vega is usb2 only. this is why is may give you errors
Guest heroin11 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 I understand it's only USB2 but there is a bit of difference in transfer speeds with my other devices though, more noticably my external hdd. I plug my San Fran in it too as it also charges quicker than the original charger with a USB3 port
Guest arad85 Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Sounds like a driver issue. USB3 is quite new and I guess they won't have all the bugs ironed out of the stack yet.
Guest TheRaul Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Maybe Windows just cant cope with the awesomeness of Android and throws a fit... just sayin'

Guest zakblood Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 and as it works with your other usb ports i'd stick with them until newer drivers come out
