Guest heroin11 Posted January 27, 2011 Report Posted January 27, 2011 I usually use a USB2 port on the back of my pc to plug in most things, but I decided to try one of my USB3 ports to see if it would make a difference in transfer speeds between the vega and my pc, but everytime I plug it in my pc instantly BSOD's and I have to unplug it. There's nothing wrong with the USB3 port though as I've tried numerous other devices in there and I always have a USB2 external hard drive plugged into one and occasionally my San Fran in the other. I've tried updating the drivers for the ports and tried them both, I've reset my vega and upgraded the firmware on it, plus installed the r6 but it still does it. I really don't know why it does it though as it's the only thing that causes my pc to do it. It doesn't even get the chance for the pc to pop up to say that there's been a new device plugged in, it really is instant with it and it works perfectly fine on the USB2 ports. Any ideas, anyone?

Next time can you just edit your original thread rather than starting a new identical one please. I am not sure why you might be getting this issue exactly but I believe I read somewhere that the Vega USB cable is wired slightly differently to normal ones (perhaps someone else can confirm/deny this?) and if so then perhaps this might be causing you the problem.

Guest heroin11 Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Sorry bout the double post. I clicked preview post and it ended up posting lol. I'll hunt out another USB cable and see if it helps and will post the outcome in case someone else finds themselves with the same problem
