Guest rvdgeer Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 So what dose this mean? any 3.0 ram for vega yet? LOL... This means some first 3.0 bits are available, so probably someone somewhere will be able to have some sort of 3.0 running on a device within the next 48 hours... I doubt it will be a Vega... But it's definitely the start of something great!
Guest zakblood Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 i'd think i'd rather wait for advent to release it myself, not sure about doing it myself, can't see them taking too long either but as yet are happy with 1.8, so unless then next brings a whole lot of new features that are 100% stable and worth it i'll wait, but thanks anyway for the info, always good to know, i see some or you here like to play with this type of stuff so im guessing it will make alot of you very happy indeed
Guest celyn Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 This and the kernel today. Going to be some busy people!
Guest Sir Gash Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Although this doesn't mean we will be getting a Honeycomb ROM anytime soon, maybe some bright spark could figure out how to port some of the apps. Personally, I would like to try the Browser from 3.0 as it seems like a big improvement to stock (Froyo/Gingerbread). I have tried pushing it to /system/app but it will not launch and trying to install it gives the following error: Failure [iNSTALL_FAILED_OLDER_SDK] So it looks unlikely but you never know, if anyone can figure it out then please share how!
Guest Damian J Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Most of the Apps are downloadable no no need to flash the full rom till its useable Sniffer, keyboard, calendar and mailed are all work on vega wow. let me see what i can do about getting this to boot..
Guest Lennyuk Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 wow. let me see what i can do about getting this to boot.. you somehow posted this in the wrong thread? <--- should be in the adam ink apps thread

I'm going to change the SDK level in the .apk and hope it works...
Guest Sir Gash Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 I'm going to change the SDK level in the .apk and hope it works... Cool, I hope that works. I think I read somewhere (possibly on XDA) that Honeycomb APKs are packed and signed differently which would be a shame.

Guest SilentMobius Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Remember that many of these app are going to be using the new "fragment" elements to define their UI, and thus will require the full Honeycomb framework.
