Guest Azurren Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Helped by the Blade: http://www.electronista.com/articles/11/01...o.4th.in.share/ Wonder how much that is directly linked to MoDaCo  *Hint* *Hint* Spend some time developing gingerbread, release it before the "Big brands" and rake in the profits :)
Guest samjam Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Helped by the Blade: http://www.electronista.com/articles/11/01...o.4th.in.share/ says: Apple had strong success with the iPhone 4 but admitted that it had been limited by supply and hinted it might have beaten ZTE otherwise. nice try, but it's also been hard to get hold of the blade.
Guest 90180360 Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Can't wait for their next phone
Guest Makinit Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Note: Vendor shipments are branded shipments and exclude OEM sales for all vendors. Does this mean the Orange San Francisco and other aliases of the Blade are not included in the numbers?
Guest hecatae Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/28/idc-zte...s-leapfrogs-ap/ ZTE boosted its annual shipments by 94 percent, stealing Apple's recently-won fourth place position globally and, in doing so, knocking RIM straight into the dreaded "others" category. ;) ;) http://www.bgr.com/2011/01/28/zte-displace...ped-from-top-5/ In doing so, the Chinese manufacturer also bumped RIM off of the top 5 list for the quarter and, more alarmingly perhaps, for the full year. http://www.idc.com/about/viewpressrelease....geType=SYNOPSIS
Guest hecatae Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Does this mean the Orange San Francisco and other aliases of the Blade are not included in the numbers? from the IDC press Release mentioned above ZTE finished the quarter in the number four position with shipments steadily spreading from its home country of China to developing regions such as Africa and Latin America. ZTE has also recently made inroads in developed markets such as Western Europe and the U.S. as well as Japan. While most of its shipments have historically concentrated on entry-level and mid-range devices, some of its recent success is directly attributable to its rapidly expanding smartphone line, such as the Android-based Blade and Racer devices. Meanwhile, its S- and C-series entry-level feature phones provided additional competition within emerging markets. Blade is included.
Guest That-Guy Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Great job ZTE ;) Lets hope they invest their earnings wisely!
Guest Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Anyone else really excited for ZTE's next phone?
Guest StevenHarperUK Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Anyone else really excited for ZTE's next phone? Yeh I am : Good chance I will get the prototype too ;)
Guest stevec611 Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Looking at the corresponding figures reported by IDC this time last year, the manufacturers displaced from last year's top five are Sony Ericsson and Motorola (replaced by ZTE and Apple). RIM entered the top five for a few quarters in 2010, but didn't make it for the whole year.
Guest Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Yeh I am : Good chance I will get the prototype too ;) Nice, just make sure you don't 'accidentally leave the phone' in a bar. ;) :D
Guest Ralph Martin Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Nice, just make sure you don't 'accidentally leave the phone' in a bar. ;) ;) Anyway, why don't we try to find out where he goes drinking? :D
