Like what version of OS & Mods are you running i.e. Model number, Kernel Version in the SETTINGS > ABOUT DEVICE screen? If you installed v1.06 the 29 Dec mod version from Paul's thread you should notice that a 'new' app will appear on your applications screen called USB Mode This app replaces the Bazzlad Gscript app so you shouldn't need to install/run it anymore. Just click on the app icon and select which mode HOST or SLAVE you wish to reset the Vega to. Good luck ;)
Guest jfchispa Posted January 28, 2011 Report Posted January 28, 2011 Hello, thank you very much for responding. I give some facts so you can put yourself better. OS Version: Android 2.2 Kernel: 2.6.32.9_P10_v1.08_20110107_DIX_UK 29/Dec r6 - MoDaCo Custom ROM Add-On for the Advent Vega (1.06.5). USB Mode This new application does not work on my tablet, do not restart when I select one of two options, USB Host or USB slave, and I honestly do not know the reason. Need any more information? Thank you very much PD: Sorry. I do not speak very good English. I am Spanish.

In theory when you installed the latest mod using ADB (Vega connected by USB to PC) at some point during build the Vega screen should have displayed a question about needing SU permissions which you MUST answer 'Allow Always'. If you did not this might explain the problem you are now having. I believe the problem is that these scripts need to have SU access/permissions this can be checked by clicking on the 'Superuser' icon in the app tray and under the 'Allow' heading will be a list of those apps granted access. If neither Gscript or USB Mode are there that is your problem. If they are not there we need to find an easy way of giving them it (if possible). That is what I am now working on so I will get back to you soon Can you confirm if you have the 'SuperUser' icon in your app tray? and if so do the Gscript or USB Mode appear within the SU allow list? Guest jfchispa Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Good afternoon. We answer all your questions. I never question appeared permits SU, and I could not select "always allow. " If I have the icon Super User but in the window APP appears "no apps in list. " From what you say, there must be the problem, right?
Guest trevor432990 Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) I think I may have found an answer to your problems from another thread on the forum here It seems when you have kernel at 1.08 and apply the 1.06.5 mod like you have there have been problems with rooting the Vega. Which would explain the lack of SU privileges. One of the suggested fixes is to download and install an app called z4root which should hopefully fix your problem too. If you want to download z4root here is a link to a download site Please give it a try then try and run USB Mode app again and hopefully it will work this time ;) Edited January 29, 2011 by trevor432990
Guest jfchispa Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 I installed Z4root, and now, he appears to use Gscript the question of super user, and I clicked "always allow. " USB Application Mode still does not work. Gscript already listed super user applications, but does not work,no reboot when USB host pulse. I receive a "flash_image not found ", can be the problem here?

Have you tried doing a HARD reboot yet .... if not press the power button for > 6 seconds wait 10 seconds then press power button for 2 seconds and try again please ? How are you testing whether Vega is in SLAVE or HOST mode ? To test check the kernel version in SETTINGS > ABOUT DEVICE if it says DIX_UK at the end, then you are in slave mode if it says POV, then you are in host mode Edited January 29, 2011 by trevor432990
Guest jfchispa Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 I performed a hard reset, as you told me, and the kernel version still appears DIX UK ... USB MODE, I pressed Host, and then hard reset and nothing happens. In gscript, USB Host I pressed, and then hard reset and nothing happens. In kernel, provided DIX_UK. I will take pictures of the processes carried out for you to watch.

I will take pictures of the processes carried out for you to watch. You misunderstood. Do not perform hard reset yourself after selecting HOST or SLAVE in Gscript as it should perform reboot on its own. I only wanted you to hard reboot manually as you had changed things after running z4root that's all. Try again but don't touch the Vega buttons. If all else fail I suggest you go back to v1.06 r4 which is the same as I'm using as I know this is stable and then try again. Sorry but I can't think of anything else to try unless someone else can chip in with some advice? ;)
Guest jfchispa Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 I do not understand the process, sorry. I will install the R4, and then I'll try again, I hope to get lucky. I will notify you when you install R4, ok? Thank you very much for your help, I reply as quickly as possible.
Guest jfchispa Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 You give me the link to R4 please?
Guest trevor432990 Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 You give me the link to R4 please? This is the link to Paul's v1.06 thread and as I understand it you will need to install v1.06.5 from the Advent Vega site using the link he provides in the thread and once that's done bake the r6 mod (think that's stable too) and apply that. Good luck and I hope it all works out but come back here if you get stuck ;)
Guest jfchispa Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Ok, but the problem is that on the website of Advent Vega, there is only version 1.08, there is no version 1.06 ... ;)
