Can wake with menu button

I can suddenly bring my phone out of sleep by pressing menu, what's wrong?

Suddenly having to rely on my psychic skills seeing as how you haven't given ANY info that might help someone answer the question properly I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say you've installed one of the new 2.2 roms, possibly the modaco 2.2 Froyo and haven't read the thread that came with that rom to find out what it does or doesn't do.

If it is that rom I suggest you read the thread because the answer is there.

If it's not then how about you putting down exactly what rom you're using, when this happened, anything you have done to the phone since you got it -

all this info helps as nobody is psychic and we cannot answer questions accurately unless we know all the information

It's like someone who has a 1968 VW beetle and says "my car now does 0-60 in 5 seconds - why" and when you finally get the required info you'd find out he upgraded the engine but hasn't told you as part of the question. The answer is obvious when you know all the facts but until then it's guesswork

Also have you tried the search function to see if anyone else has asked this question? it may surprise you how many have!

I find the Facebook app does that to me. It keeps my phone in a partial wake state.

My stock Orange rom does that if I've got the power plugged in.

There are a few applications (like the Facebook app) that prevent the phone from going into deep sleep. If the phone is in a partial wake state, any button will turn the screen back on. The phone will also burn the battery a lot faster.

So - most probably - you installed a new application that keeps the phone in a partial wake state.

Nope, haven't changed roms, it's still the one that came with the phone

I don't have the facebook app

It wasn't plugged in

I only noticed it after I finished playing a game, after a while the menu button stopped bringing it out of sleep and it's working properly again now =/

Therefore I suggest you do this:

Download 'Spare Parts' from the market

Open it and go to 'Battery History'

Select partial wake usage

If the game you were playing is top of the list then thats your problem, either dont play the game again or kill it in task manager when you finish playing from now on. Simples!
