Guest spiderboy Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Has anyone had any luck with syncrosnising notes. I gave it another bash yesterday but then realised its not part of the MSSM OS. Who has succesfully synced notes on the Phones....
Guest Bazz Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Nope: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...highlight=notes http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...highlight=notes
Guest Will Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 I wrote a little page, to store my personal lottery numbers, info, notes etc online, no promises to how well it suits your needs, it's free, and you can try it out at SPVNOTES  Will
Guest HelloDave Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Don't forget MBoden's great notepad utility "NotBad" for decertified SPVs. It's not quite a notes application, but if you can manage to keep track of individual text files then it works fine.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 And just wait for the new version when it comes out :)
Guest davy Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Hi people, I've been playing about with this for a while. I've figured out that you have to save docs in "text files" type on PC then I transfer to storage card and I can read them on SPV using Notbad. Unfortunatley I have been unable to figure out a way to store them in short sentences so you can read them on phone by scrolling up/down only (rather than having to scroll left/right as well). I have shortened sentences to 4 or five words (by pulling in right margin) on PC and saved then transferred to SPV, but it then reverts to longer sentences. on the phone. Is it possible to transfer with short sentences as it's a pain in the a**e having to scroll across? Thanks in advance, Davy. P.S. Hope this makes sense.

Guest davy Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Thanks for that Agent.M. Guess I'll just have to wait for new version. Cheers, Davy.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Here's more details for you davy. http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...=asc&highlight=
Guest jaknife2000 Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 If you can't wait until version 2, you can download a free text editor called notetab light. www.notetab.com In there before you open any txt documents, click View -> Options. And click the Documents tab. In there you can set the line length to 24. Then any document will open with 24 chars line length, and it does warp words so you are ok, it won't chop them. Then all you have to do is same them and hey presto they fit the screen. I have got Dune book 1, on there in 2 parts so it processors quicker. You can edit your docs on PC, and transfer them back, then in notetab set the length to 70 and its back to normalish. I hope this helps. But Notbad version2 would be an easier method when available.
Guest davy Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Thanks for the help guys, I'm going to try notetab light for the moment. I will get Notbad version 2 when it is is available. Any idea when it is due? Thanks again, Davy.
Guest jaknife2000 Posted February 10, 2003 Report Posted February 10, 2003 Not an exact date, but MBoden the author has got a website:- www.bodehoff.com/spv So stay tuned there.

Guest Bazz Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Or you could just use html and view them in IE
Guest davy Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Hi again. This is doing my head in. Cannot find speedreader plus anywhere for download. Cannot get notetab to reduce line lengths. Where do I put files on SPV after converting to html so that I can view them through IE? Going to work now to have a rest! Will check back in after 10pm. All suggestions gratefully recieved. Davy.
Guest Bazz Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Anywhere! See here: http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=3306
Guest jaknife2000 Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Notetab is easy to use. BEFORE you open any txt files, click VIEW -> OPTIONS. Then select the "Documents" tab. And click "Wrap to column" and type 24 in the box. Then when you open a file, it will wrap the width to 24 chars. You can then save it in Notetab, and this will save the 24 char widths. Like i said, i use it all the time, and have got several books on my phone now. If you have an app such as All-explorer, you can browse to your .html file, then once opened book mark it. That saves all the file://path typing.
Guest Charlie Mouse Posted February 11, 2003 Report Posted February 11, 2003 Text files automatically open in IE anyway so if you just want to view the files without editing this should do you.
Guest davy Posted February 12, 2003 Report Posted February 12, 2003 Sorted now. jaknife2000:Got it working. Didn't realise I had to click the "wrap to column" as well as changing to 24 in next box. Thanks for all the help everyone. Davy.
