Guest benzo Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 I'm a current windows mobile user. I am looking to upgrade to an android phone. I don't know much about android devices but I need the following specs: -Has good GPS -Fast even when running more than one program -Nice screen -Good battery -Responsive -Not too heavy/big -Allows me to unlock and play about with ROM stuff As an aside to this, how do android users sychronise their contacts/calender stuff with Outlook? Also, do Android users have good MS office editing software? Thanks for all the help in advance. Benzo
Guest phlum Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 For a starter phone I recommend the ZTE Blade (or Orange San Francisco, depending where you're from). It's got pretty much everything you need - and upgrading to a Froyo ROM will boost your battery life as with many others. I'm not sure if there's an Outlook contacts sync since Google has nothing to do with Microsoft as such; however I believe there's a Hotmail app so perhaps you could use that in some weird way. Better still, see if you can export your Outlook contacts to a VCF file and then you can import them in Android. AFAIK, most of the Froyo ROMs include an app called Quickoffice. I haven't really used it much, but you can always try it out however you fancy!
Guest T3KO Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 If you cant directly sync with Outlook you should be able to sync to your gmail adress and then to your phone.
