Guest sudeepagni Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 am using a acer liquid s100 firmware version 1.6 kernel 2.6.29 build number acer_liquid_2.00.31_AAP_GEN2 i tried rooting the device with the info provided at http://theunlockr.com/2010/03/16/how-to-ro...he-acer-liquid/ but unfortunately it failed and the gsm(sim dosent register) and blutooth stopped working. and now the phone is not even recognized on the computer. can anyone please help me with recovering functionality. would really appreciate it. thank you
Guest HustlinDaily Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 (edited) You probably flashed the wrong Superboot. Get into recovery and flash a different .bin. Turn off the phone Remove & replace battery Hold down Power+Camera+Volume Down. Phone will vibrate 2-4 times Hold down Power+Camera Phone will boot into Recovery (either a custom one if you installed or stock wich is a little Android robot with an ! in the middle) After that, Find a .bin here- http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...act-collection/ (make sure that is for Liquid 256. Newer ones on bottom of the post. I recommend 4.002.14.EMEA if you want Froyo as it is the European bin and has more languages) Follow the tutorial here- http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...-acer-liquid-e/ If anything goes wrong, check out this thread- http://android.modaco.com/content/acer-liq...-please-sticky/ Afterwards, root it. DO NOT FOLLOW THE UNLOCKR GUIDE. Install Malez Recovery and root it through Malez Recovery- http://code.google.com/p/acer-liquid-malez-recovery/ (I think that this recovery version is for Froyo bins only, does not work with Liquid E Ferrari bin). To root it, go to the root menu and use one of the root methods and install busybox there. OR (easier), just flash a custom ROM. There is also an "Auto-Root Kit" included on that site. Never used it before but it is probably the easiest way to get your phone rooted. Edited January 29, 2011 by HustlinDaily

Guest Varyag Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 can anyone pls tell if there is any other way if the phone is not recognised on pc the only one way, comrade, is to bring your phone to service.
Guest HustlinDaily Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 I am afraid he is right. If your phone can't be recognized by PC through recovery then I have no idea how it can possibly get recognized by the PC. Just tell them you were trying to upgrade to Eclair (via their website- http://global-download.acer.com/Step5.aspx...amp;Category=OS tell them you were trying to install the 1.100.09.AAP.GEN2 package) and it stopped midway and this happened. Actually try Fastboot. I believe it is: 1. Remove battery and replace battery. 2. plug in PC-connected USB cable 3. Camera button + "<" then Power. Then try to see if the Acer Download Tool recognizes it there. If that doesn't work, then you might have to send it in.
