Bricked Vega help

Hi everyone,

First off, I just wanna say this site is amazing. I've browsed around it but just joined like 10 mins ago.

It's what convinced me to get a tablet, then a Vega more specifically, so yeah, you guys rock. ;)

Now to the problem.

I upgraded to Pauls ROM r6 + addons and small notification bar.

GREAT.

Simply awesome.

I tried to use the USB switch Utility. I never worked,it just hanged and hanged and i seen on this site about people having to re-install it to get it working.

I did the very thing, uninstalled and then re-installed the APK of it.

It rebooted (it asked for SuperUser Access as well before doing so).

But now, it comes up 'booting' in place of the regular 'android' boot screen. it flashes slightly, booting remains, then dissappears, leaving me with a black screen. I've had the thing on for about half an hour now it still just a black screen.

SO now because it has go into usb HOST mode, i think it won;t connect to the PC, so I'm not really sure how to go about fixing.

Any urgent advice and help will be supremely appreciated.

Thanks

Sigh. There must be 30 threads answering this question now.

Just put it into recovery and flash the stock ROM. Then reapply your packs etc. It will go into recovery, you have to just keep trying. You are not bricked. Try without power plugged in first, it won't work. Then hold the power button down for at least 6 seconds to make sure it's off. Then plug the power in and try again.

1. Don't panic

2. Flash it back to stock using the manual and files on http://www.myadventvega.co.uk/

3. Apply Pauls mods ETC.

4. Sigh of relief

Wiffle, thanks so much for that, you've saved my ass lol. ;)

Simonta, I apologise, i should have looked for similar posts. I was just in a panic. Sorry again.

I remain corrected, this forum rocks.

I had the same issue, so tried to flash the new ROM on the vega site, it flashed ok but when i tried to install Pauls custom Rom it said something along the lines of the root folders were not there but it sort of installed. But on reboot it just hung on the boot screen with "Booting" showing but never actually booted. ;)

So i reflashed the old Rom (lucky it was uploaded elsewhere) and lucky for me i had a Titanium backup, so am in the process of installing it all back on. ;)

I think i saw a thread on a new usb apk somewhere time to install it methinks and hope it doesn't crap out again.

No problem glad to help. I bricked mine within 30 minutes of getting it (I must learn to read instructions). The great thing about the Vega is it is so easy to get it back to stock.

You shouldn't need to use a different apk, often what was a problem before won't be a problem on a reinstall onto a clean vega. My recommendation is to apply the R6 w/o PP then CWM then the MCK r2 and test it out booting into and out of recovery a couple of times then into and out of USB host a couple of times again. If its stable then set it up how you like it and back it up if it isn't then try installing in a different order on a clean system again or dropping a component.
