Navionics chartplotter on Vega no USG

I've had the Navionics UK chartplotter App on my Milestone for a while and it's very good so when I got the Vega I wanted it to run on that as most 10" chartplotters cost over £1000!.

I use the Navicore bluetooth Gps and Bluetooth Provider by mobile-j.de. which connected straight away.

Navionics runs fine, I did have a couple of force closes when changing the map/sat overlay initially but now it runs OK. The only thing I can't get working is the User Generated Content which is a layer shared among the Navionics community allowing additions or corrections to be made. I did think it may be due to running on WiFi but when I changed the Milestone to WiFi it could still display the USG. Anyone else tried it? Any ideas why it won't work?

Vega is running r6 with performance pack.

Not that I know anything about the 'Navionics UK chartplotter' app but when you say you can't get this USG Layer to work what exactly comes up when you try? Any error messages? Is the USG a separate app or built-in to the main app? Isn't there a Navionics forum you could bounce this question at? ;)

Sorry I meant user generated content UGC don't know where I got USG from.. senior moment!

There are no error messages, it just doesn't appear. If it worked it would appear as a layer on top of the chart or map. Navionics aren't particularly responsive so I thought I'd try here. Thanks anyway.

No probs. Sounds like an interesting app so I hope you manage to get it going properly ;)

That would be a useful app for me too. But I'd need a waterproof and shock resistant case to go with it, a la Otterbox.

Well there was an update to 5.1 on Navionics which now force closes on startup everytime. Reason is it is looking for the GPS so running Fake Location gets around that. It is now certified for Galaxy Tab and apparently runs well on that. But still no user content layer. Could it be looking for the 3g? On the milestone I can go to Airplane mode and run Wifi and that works properly. If only I could get my 3g dongle to work but it's the voda K3565 which won't play. Mailed Navionics and will see what they say.
