It means that 2.2 cannot use SD card as RAM?

must use 3rd rom?

Soon, I hope. Damn ;)

Swap RAM is very very slow if your card's class is 6 or 8

Man, I hate it when people say that, because even if it is true, your device will be much slower without swap (class 6 and 8 are the faster SD cards BTW, class 2 is the slow one). Based on personal experiences, a Liquid A1 under 2.2 that has a swap file/partition on the SD card, even if that SD card is Class 2 (which is the slowest), runs applications faster and better than without a swap file/partition. There are probably a couple reasons why this is the case, but since I don't know too much about the workings of RAM in Linux systems, you're better off if I don't try to explain my findings.

As for swap support, I know that Xian and roggin's CM6.1, as well as the WIP CM7 ROMs have swap support. I'm not sure about MIUI, but I've heard it also has swap support. If you're feeling adventurous, you could try using a different ROM (LCR, T&L) with one of these ROMs' boot.img's or, better yet, create a new boot.img that retains the old ROM's ramdisk but uses a kernel that has swap enabled.

swap file only apply your phone is rooted and swap partition apply for phone's kernel support, right?when i roggin's cm6.1,if you make a swap partition in your sdcard.it will get a blank sd card!!!so it could not turn on swap!!!

and swap only is a exchange place.even if I/O speed as same as ram.it still is a exchange place.it could not take the place of ram.

there is roggin kernel sources tree that it's based from phh kernel and based on acer 2.1 kernel with many fixes on top.. but nobody compiled it with ramzswap patches.. Also some features are missing and/or buggy in respect of acer 2.2 compiled kernel.

;)

I regred that I had no time and mental resources to build my compile environment to try to build some kernels.........................................................................
