San Fran WiFi problem - not disc. problem

I'd be grateful for any suggestions on a problem I'm having with my San Francisco.

I connect to my home router. Phone shows as connected and the router shows the phone as connected but all I ever get is Network errors.

On the long-shot that it was the known disconnection problem I installed the Wifi App - same behaviour.

Been through all security settings on the router and security switched off - same thing.

I saw this problem while the Orange Rom was on but have since installed Paul's Custom Modaco rom v7.

Any help / suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Rob

Tried static ip?

Or maybe your router using a mac whitelist?

Hi

Router has been rebooted several times.

I did have MAC address filtering on - added the MAC address of the phone - no joy and have it switched off at the moment.

Thanks

Hi,

I've got the latest firmware on the router.

It's a fairly old router - didn't have any issues with my old Pulse though.

Downloaded a ping app and the phone does ping the router.

Thanks

what's the output of ping - c 4 www.google.com

one thing you can try too in advanced wifi settings is to give to the phone a static ip

with gateway and dns

Ping to google gets a timeout.

I'll take a look at giving the phone a static IP on the router.

Thanks

and ping -c 4 8.8.4.4 ???

Yep - getting a response. Looks like it's a DNS issue.
