Hi,

Has anyone used Overclock widget before?

Can it be used on GT540 to overclock?

Does it need a custom rom?

Thanks.

In order to overclock your phone, you need:

1. Custom ROM that supports overclocking

2. Root access

I haven't used Overclock widget, but I'm using SetCpu 2.0.4.

I have the open europe V20b ROM so I think overclocking is out of the question here.

Do you know a reliable 2.1 custom ROM?

No, you just need 3 things:

1. Root,

2. Kernel with modifications to make overclocking available,

3. SetCpu or similar.

And all those are inside some of Moded Roms. ;)

Thanks you guys.

So, I'll assume that the Black Quarx ROM has all what it takes.

Is that ROM based on Baltic ROM?

I tried the V20D Baltic ROM and it caused me some network trouble regarding decoding the response to USSD codes.

Black Quarx ROM is good. Give it a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871491

After some struggle with the downloads I managed to get it flashed as in the steps there. Nice work and thanks to the contributors.

I was trying to install autorootapp2sd and I keep getting that phone is not connected. Tried that old tricks of the book, disabling the drivers re-installing the drivers, connecting to a different port and still the same.

*** UPDATE ****

I tried the process on another computer and it worked. I think the old drivers got messed up after installing the fastboot ones.
